The program is designed to improve the literacy skills of children in grades 3 – 8 so they can communicate more effectively and efficiently. We help students develop a strong academic foundation through reading in order to become life-long learners, and to develop character and self-confidence. Readernomics instruction is derived from the Common Core Standards in reading and writing that have been adopted by the District of Columbia Public Schools as well. However we incorporate additional research based reading strategies within the instructional matrix. We promote reading as a fun and engaging experience that can elevate lives and create positive opportunities.
The program will teach students to develop goals and achieve them. Students will be instructed on topics such as financial literacy, and asset building/preservation activities as a means of helping low and moderate income people achieve economic security. There will also be exercises on how to open a business, how to achieve their dreams, how to have high expectations for success in life, and how to stay motivated. Students will also be exposed to a cadre of motivational speakers to help them develop a path to financial freedom.
Grand Slam Adventure Club (GSAC)
The Grand Slam Adventure Club (GSAC) is an out-of-school-time program that introduces students to the world through the game of tennis. Students will be introduced to literature and geography that will examine the life, culture and people of the four tournament hosting countries, and the countries of each Grand Slam event winner. Students will also extend their explorations beyond the classroom onto off-site locations around the city to learn much more about these countries. There will be reading and writing exercises relating to each GSAC experience to help build comprehension skills. The Grand Slam Adventure Club will achieve the four Grand Slam victories of healthy minds, healthy bodies, healthy spirits and healthy lives!
Science Technology Engineering Art Math (STEAM)

Students should be able to clearly understand the importance of STEM and their connection to the world they live in as it primarily relates to coding, sustainability, energy and climate change in their everyday lives. In addition, the importance of diversity and inclusion (D&I) principles and practices are incorporated throughout the core curriculum platform to offset bullying, make students aware of the importance of diversity in nature, the classroom and life.
Kiddy Boot Camp
Kiddy Boot Camp is a strength and conditioning program that is specifically designed for children that helps them develop a lifelong love of fitness. In a group setting, children participate in fun and engaging workouts that deliver measurable results and prepare them to be well-rounded athletes. Kiddy Boot Camp workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements that deliver a fitness that is broad, inclusive, general, and scale-able for any participant at any level. This means that, for the most part, no two workouts are the same, so kids never get bored and the novelty of each workout keeps them excited about participating. Nutrition education will also be a part of the workouts to ensure participants are not only physically fit but internally healthy as well. Nutrition lessons will feature age appropriate and cultural sensitive information.
